NISSAN ANNOUNCES U.S. PRICING FOR 2016 TITAN XD

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Just in time for last-minute holiday adventures, the all-new 2016 Nissan TITAN XD Crew Cab goes on sale tomorrow at Nissan dealers nationwide. Available in five grade levels and a choice of 4×4 and 4×2 drivetrains, the Cummins® 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel-equipped TITAN XD has a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price* (MSRP) of $40,290 for the S 4×2. The top-of-the-line Platinum Reserve 4×4 grade has an MSRP of $60,520.

Following the launch of the 2016 TITAN XD Crew Cab, the new TITAN lineup will be offered in three cab configurations, two frame sizes, three powertrain offerings and five grade levels. More information on the full lineup will be available at a later date.

The all-new 2016 Nissan TITAN XD full-size pickup has been named one of three finalists for the 2016 North American Truck/Utility of the Year (NATOY) and was recently named “Truck of Texas” by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) in their annual 2015 Texas Truck Rodeo, which puts the industry’s best trucks, SUVs and CUVs through a grueling two-day evaluation at the historic Knibbe Ranch in Spring Branch, Texas. CANTON, Miss. – Nissan today officially launched production of its all-new 2016 Nissan TITAN XD full-size pickup with Job One ceremonies at its Canton, Mississippi assembly facility. Speaking at the ceremony were José Muñoz, executive vice president, Nissan Motor Company, Ltd. and chairman, Nissan North America, Inc.; Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant; Mississippi Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves; and Steve Marsh, vice president, Manufacturing, Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant.

“It has been a long, hard journey getting to today and I want to express my appreciation to the entire TITAN XD team,” said Muñoz, referring to the truck’s planning, design, engineering, testing and manufacturing teams from Nissan facilities across the United States. “And now, the real hard work begins right here on this production line – delivering the promise of innovation and excitement designed into the new TITAN to our customers.”

“When Nissan opened the doors on its assembly plant in 2003 in Canton, it thrust Mississippi into the global spotlight. Our state’s automotive industry has grown exponentially since that time and shows no signs of slowing down,” Gov. Bryant said. “The launch of the 2016 Nissan TITAN once again has the world’s eyes on our state and Nissan Canton’s hard-working employees who take pride in a job well done. The Canton facility, originally opened in May 2003, has more than 6,000 employees and has produced more than three million vehicles to date. The facility covers 4.2 million square feet. Along with the TITAN XD, models produced include Altima, Armada, Frontier, NV Cargo Van, NV Passenger Van and Murano.

“Launching the new TITAN in Canton is a testament to the quality work by Nissan’s employees there,” Lt. Gov. Reeves said. “In Mississippi, elected leaders are working to create an environment that supports innovation in the private sector and prepare a workforce ready for the jobs of tomorrow. “Trucks have been a key part of Nissan’s manufacturing heritage – with the first TITAN produced here in Canton and the first ever U.S.-assembled vehicle, a Frontier pickup in Smyrna in 1983,” said Marsh. “And now today we are launching the new generation TITAN, a vehicle as significant – maybe more so – as the original.”

The all-new TITAN XD joins a refreshed 2016 Nissan lineup that includes the new Nissan Maxima “4-Door Sports Car,” redesigned Nissan Altima and the updated Nissan Sentra, which made its debut yesterday at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Nissan sales in the United States have increased by 6.2 percent in 2015 (through October), led by sales of Rogue and Murano crossover SUVs.

DETROIT – Nissan today debuted the all-new Nissan TITAN full-size pickup to a standing room-only crowd of international media at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. Presiding over the dramatic reveal was Nissan President and Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn, who stated, “With the 2016 Nissan TITAN XD, we weren’t just going for ‘best-in-class.’ Instead, we are offering the ‘Best New Class.'”

The new TITAN XD, the first of the new generation of Nissan TITAN models, creates a new segment of the American market. It offers the effortless towing and hauling of the larger, more expensive heavy-duty trucks – yet has the fuel-efficiency and affordability of half-ton pickups. It is projected to go on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide in late 2015.

Powered by a new Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel rated at 310 horsepower and hefty 555 lb-ft of torque, the 2016 TITAN XD will offer an available maximum towing capacity of more than 12,000 pounds (when properly equipped), along with available cutting-edge towing features such as an integrated gooseneck hitch engineered into the frame.

Additional available TITAN XD utility features and convenience aids include RearView Monitor with Trailer Guides, Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) and a Trailer Light Check system that allows one-person hook-up operation – including checking turn signals, brake lights and running/clearance lights from outside the vehicle. Also available are Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and a Front and Rear Sonar System.

The wide range of available interior features includes front and rear NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats and a large center console designed to serve as a mobile workstation.

The all-new TITAN, like the first-generation Titan, was developed with core Nissan planning, design, engineering and manufacturing teams contributing from Tennessee, California, Michigan, Arizona and Mississippi.

The all-new TITAN also underscores Nissan’s commitment to localized production. Nissan has invested more than $5 billion in the United States in the past five years and has moved manufacturing for several models from overseas to its North American plants.

LAS VEGAS – The all-new 2016 Nissan TITAN XD made its West Coast show debut today at the Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas. TITAN Chief Product Specialist Rich Miller revealed the truck to hundreds of outdoors-specializing media members – a group that appreciates a rugged truck.

The SolarFlare Yellow 2016 TITAN XD PRO-4X is located in booth #4367 at the Sands Expo Center.

The new TITAN XD is an exceptionally capable truck ready for its next adventure. Equipped with a number of features outdoorsmen will find helpful when hauling gear, the all-new TITAN will offer a maximum payload more than 2,000 pounds* (when properly equipped). Features such as LED Bed Rail Lighting, lockable in-bed storage, tailgate illumination, spray-on bedliner and two-way tailgate assist will help while loading and unloading hunting and fishing gear alike.
