About the 2019 Nissan Rogue
The success of the Nissan Rogue has been nothing short of phenomenal. As the company’s top-selling nameplate in both calendar year 2017 and model year 2018, the combination of Rogue and Rogue Sport continues to set all-time monthly sales records. The 2019 Rogue is offered in three well-equipped grade levels, S, SV and SL – each offering a highly desirable combination of compact overall size and ample interior roominess – making Rogue the perfect vehicle for everyday use and family adventure getaways.
Rogue exterior highlights include body-color heated outside mirrors with available integrated turn signals, a rear spoiler, privacy glass and roof rails. Rogue’s available power panoramic moonroof offers a wide view of the outside world through its extended length. A convenient Motion-Activated Liftgate is standard on SV and SL grades.
Inside, the 2019 Rogue offers a premium look and feel throughout. Every 2019 Rogue features NissanConnectSM featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, with a 7.0-inch color touch-screen display. As in previous years, the 2019 Rogue offers exceptional passenger and cargo flexibility with its innovative Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System. The new, standard Rear Door Alert (RDA) system can help remind customers of items that may be forgotten in the rear seat – valuables, dry cleaning, groceries and more.
All 2019 Rogue models are equipped with a responsive 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft or torque. The engine is matched with an advanced Xtronic transmission with standard Sport Mode and Eco switches. Rogue is available with an intuitive All-Wheel Drive system or front-wheel drive. Fuel economy5 is rated at 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined for front-wheel drive models. Rogue AWD models are estimated at 25 mpg city, 32 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined4.
No mention of the 2019 Rogue would be complete without highlighting the advanced ProPILOT Assist technology, which is core to Nissan Intelligent Mobility and is the foundation for the autonomous vehicles of the future. ProPILOT Assist helps drivers stay centered in the lane, navigate stop-and-go highway traffic, maintain a set vehicle speed and maintain a set distance to the vehicle ahead.
Other available technology includes Intelligent Around View® Monitor (I-AVM), radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI), High Beam Assist (HBA) and Rear Automatic Braking (RAB).
About the 2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid
The 2019 Rogue Hybrid utilizes Nissan’s advanced Intelligent Dual Clutch system. It uses a compact Lithium-ion battery and electric motor to provide supplementary power through its one-motor/two-clutch system. The first of the two clutches is a dry clutch installed between the 4-cylinder engine and the electric motor. The system also includes an Idle Start/Stop system.
The Rogue Hybrid has a net system horsepower rating of 176 hp. Fuel economy6 rated at 33 mpg city, 35 mpg highway and 34 mpg combined for the front-wheel drive model; 31 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and 33 mpg combined for all-wheel drive. The Rogue Hybrid powertrain is matched with an advanced Xtronic transmission with Sport and Eco Mode switches. Also standard are Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The 2019 Rogue Hybrid is available with an intuitive All-Wheel Drive system or front-wheel drive.
First introduced in the 2017 model year, the Rogue Hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain is offered in addition to the Rogue’s standard 170-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine. For 2019, the Rogue Hybrid is available in four key Nissan U.S. market areas – the West, Northwest, Mountain and Mid-Atlantic regions.
For the 2019 model year, enhancements to the Rogue Hybrid include:
- Expanded technology availability, including standard Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection and High Beam Assist (HBA) across all grade levels
- Rear Automatic Braking (RAB) and Rear Sonar System added as standard
- Innovative Rear Door Alert2 added to all grade levels
- Revised SL Premium Package content with Bose® Audio System and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels
Advanced Hybrid System
The 2019 Rogue Hybrid combines an advanced 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC aluminum-alloy inline 4-cylinder engine and a compact lithium-ion battery with an innovative one-motor, two-clutch control. The system’s gasoline engine is rated at 141 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque, while the advanced 30 kW electric motor is rated at 40 horsepower and 118 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid system net power is 176 horsepower. The system also includes an Idle Start/Stop system and an Intelligent Regenerative Braking system.
At the core of the Rogue Hybrid gasoline-electric hybrid system is Nissan’s advanced Intelligent Dual Clutch Control system. The first of the two clutches is a dry clutch installed between the 4-cylinder engine and the electric motor, where the torque converter would normally be, and the second is between the motor and Xtronic transmission.
The high-output lithium-ion battery is able to charge/discharge quickly, which contributes to high-speed, precise control of the electric motor and optimum clutch control, and in combination enable smooth start and quick shift changes. An Intelligent Regenerative Braking system partially recharges the battery during vehicle braking and additional fuel economy is provided by an Idle Start/Stop system.
In addition, with use of the compact Lithium-ion battery located under the rear cargo area, the Rogue Hybrid maintains its flat rear floor for easy passenger access to the rear seat and little reduction of cargo room.
The 2019 Rogue Hybrid features Nissan’s suite of confidence-inspiring dynamic technologies with Intelligent Trace Control (I-TC), Intelligent Engine Braking (I-EB) and Intelligent Ride Control (I-RC). Rogue also offers standard 4-wheel independent suspension, Electric Power-assisted Steering, 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control System (TCS) and Hill Start Assist. Rogue is available with a choice of front-wheel drive or an intuitive All-Wheel Drive.
Every Rogue also offers a standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with position monitoring and Nissan’s innovative Easy Fill Tire Alert.
Refined exterior design
Like every 2019 Rogue, the Rogue Hybrid SV and SL models offer a desirable combination of compact overall size and ample interior roominess. Details such as wide opening (77 degrees) rear doors for easier entry and exit to the rear passenger space add to its utility – along with the standard Motion-Activated Liftgate – making Rogue Hybrid the perfect vehicle for everyday use and family adventure getaways. The Motion-Activated Liftgate uses a kick sensor system to provide easy, comfortable and secure operation – both opening and closing of the tailgate.
Other Rogue Hybrid exterior highlights include body-color heated outside mirrors with available integrated turn signals, a rear spoiler, privacy glass and roof rails. Rogue Hybrid’s available power panoramic moonroof offers a wide view of the outside world through its extended length. The front glass panel slides and tilts, while the rear glass panel is fixed. When in the open position, the front panel slides under the fixed second panel.
The Nissan signature “V-Motion” grille and headlights with LED signature Daytime Running Lights help enhance Rogue’s robust, dynamic presence. Rogue Hybrid SL offers 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels as part of the Premium Package.
New for 2019 is the innovative Rear Door Alert2 (RDA) system, which can help remind customers of items that may be forgotten in the rear seat – valuables, dry cleaning, groceries and more.
The RDA system was developed by a pair of Nissan engineers and mothers. It can help remind Nissan owners to check the rear seat by using a series of distinctive honks as the driver is walking away from the vehicle. The audio alerts distinguish the Nissan RDA from other systems in the marketplace. If the system detects that a rear door was opened/closed prior to a trip, but then was not re-opened again after the trip was completed, given the vehicle was put in park and the ignition cycled off, the system responds with a series of notifications, starting with a display in the instrument panel and progressing to subtle but distinctive chirps of the horn.
The 2019 Rogue Hybrid is offered in six exterior colors: Brilliant Silver, Gun Metallic, Magnetic Black, Pearl White, Scarlet Ember and Caspian Blue.
Premium-look interior
Inside, Rogue Hybrid offers a premium look and feel throughout. Among the interior features found in the 2019 Rogue Hybrid are a D-shaped steering wheel and leather-booted sport-mode shifter, and available heated steering wheel, memory for driver’s seats and mirror, and remote engine start2, which provides flexibility to start the Rogue remotely using the keyless entry fob.
The front bucket seats are a special Zero Gravity design. The driver’s seat is 6-way adjustable, with available power adjustment including lumbar support, while the front passenger seat is 4-way adjustable. The available Quick Comfort™ heated front seats are designed to immediately begin warming the body parts most sensitive to heat, such as the thighs and hips. Leather-appointed seats are standard on Rogue Hybrid SL models. In the rear is a split folding 40/60-split 2nd row seat.
Standard interior features include SiriusXM® Satellite Radio (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), 5.0-inch center meter color display (Advanced Driver Assist™ Display), 4-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with auxiliary audio input jack, USB connection port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, RearView Monitor, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth® and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant (compatible smartphone required).
