UNLIKE ANY OTHER SUPERCAR, THE SCG003S IS A ROAD CAR ORIGINATING DIRECTLY FROM A TRUE RACING CAR
Unlike any other supercar, that is first developed in its road version and then evolves into a more performing track oriented model, the SCG003S is a road car that originates directly from a true racing car, the SCG003C, designed to compete in the Nürburgring 24 hours race, by the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus.
Designed and assembled by bespoke car manufacturer Manifattura Automobili Torino, the SCG003S maintains unchanged the unique spirit, the racing DNA, and the aerodynamic refinement of her racing precursor SCG003C. The unique body style and racing interiors have been preserved as well, executed to a higher standard of elegance and finesse. The SCG003S will be officially presented at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show.
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus reveals SCG003S
New York, October 11, 2016 – American sports car company Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has revealed images of its first production model, the SCG003S, which will be launched at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.
The all-new road car is a direct descendant of the SCG003C race car, which has won its class at the world-famous Nürburgring 24 Hours: renowned as the toughest endurance race in the world, held on the epic Nordschleife circuit in Germany.
The lineage is clear to see in the model name designations: ‘S’ stands for ‘Stradale’ whereas as ‘C’ denotes ‘Competizione’, in homage to the legendary Italian road racers of the 1960s, which were equally at home on the track as on the road.
While the inspiration behind the car is classical, the SCG003S is packed full of the latest technology, incorporating the lessons learned from the cutting-edge of competition against the most renowned manufacturers in motorsport.
In particular, the SCG003S promises to be the fastest-cornering car on sale, thanks to advanced aerodynamic downforce that allows it to generate more than 2g through corners: similar levels to sports prototypes.
The car is hand-built in Italy by Manifattura Automobili Torino, using an integral carbon fibre chassis powered by a 4.4-litre twin turbo engine that develops in excess of 750 horsepower. The Italian firm is headed by Paolo Garella, who has been responsible for a number of iconic cars over the years such as the Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina.
SCG brand creator James Glickenhaus said: “It’s the culmination of a long-held dream to finally see our amazing race car born again as a road car, using all the know-how we have taken from competing in international races and putting it onto the road. This will be a collectable car like no other, capturing the spirit of the road racers that have defined automotive history during the heyday of grand touring.”
A high degree of personalisation will be possible on the car, which will be produced to order in limited numbers from the middle of next year. This includes the competition-derived interior fit and finish, as well as mechanical customisation in order to ensure a tailor-made driving experience for every customer. With its unique looks and downforce, the SCG003S elevates the hypercar to new levels of performance and driving enjoyment.
The top speed of the SCG003S will be in excess of 350kph, with 0-100kph covered in less than three seconds: not far off the figures of a Formula 1 car. This incredible performance is directly driven by the SCG003S’s sporting heritage, with development of the road car following on from success in competition.
Paolo Garella said: “We are delighted to reveal these exciting images of the SCG003S before we officially launch the car in Geneva next year. Our philosophy in building this car has been uncompromising: to take the most exhilarating aspects of a racing car and put them on the road. The resulting product is something that has never been seen before, with unprecedented levels of downforce and driver engagement.”
SCUDERIA CAMERON GLICKENHAUS LAUNCHES LIMITED EDITION LUGGAGE
The all-new road car from Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG), the SCG003S, was revealed to the world at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, and although the car was the star of the show, two other exclusive accessories were launched too: a bespoke purse and briefcase.
The purse and briefcase were produced to perfectly fit the car and crafted from the very finest Italian leather. Each item slots alongside the seat and door, and to ensure they blend into the exquisite interior of the car, the bag handles disappear into the bag when they are stowed. This means that they are never in the way, sliding out again automatically as the bags are removed from the car.
At Geneva the beautifully crafted bags were shown in black and blue to match the interior of the SCG003S on display, but as they are made from the very same leather that appears in each car, customers are able to personalise the luggage to their own individual specification.
These two luxury baggage items follow on from the recent announcement that SCG is working with BRM to create a range of bespoke timepieces, named the SCG003S Collection, which will feature two watches: a Chronograph and a Sport watch.
To craft the SCG003S Collection, BRM’s artisans integrated the car’s one-of-a-kind aesthetic into precision machines that reflect the performance of the team and company. The watches will be released in summer 2017 and are available as part of a numbered, limited-edition series.
SCG founder Jim Glickenhaus said: “The SCG003S is truly a thing of beauty and we wanted to create luggage and a watch that complemented its unique appearance. I’m really pleased with how both the purse and briefcase look and especially how the truly reflect the SCG003S in terms of design, advanced engineering, and craftmanship.”
Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus Partners with BRM to Create Limited-Edition Timepieces for the Release of the SCG003S
THE DEVELOPERS OF THE FASTEST CORNERING PRODUCTION CAR IN THE WORLD PARTNER WITH BRM TO CREATE ONE-OF-A-KIND TIMEPIECES FOR THE RELEASE OF THE GROUND-BREAKING SCG003S.
Introducing the fastest cornering road legal car in the world during the 2017 Geneva Auto Show, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) is set to unveil the SCG003S and announce a bespoke timepiece collaboration with BRM. The partnership unites two companies born and built on the track, and the SCG003S Collection is driven by the ethos of elite craftsmanship shared by BRM and SCG.
“I’m very happy to introduce our fans to BRM’s artistry, and I’m thrilled the collection serves as a unique channel to elevate and expand our racing program,” notes Jim Glickenhaus, co-founder of SCG.
Approaching supercar design from the track instead of the road, Glickenhaus and the SCG team reversed traditional standards and developed a racing prototype before creating a road legal model. The result is absolute authenticity and a rare driving experience derived from a true racecar, because the SCG003C was launched to compete in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, where it emerged the class winner. “I’m always amazed by individuals whose passion and love of cars enables them to push significant boundaries of design, craftsmanship, and power,’ added Frederic Gasser, president of BRM Americas. “I’m grateful to Jim for bringing BRM into this incredible adventure.”
To craft the SCG003S Collection, BRM’s artisans integrated the car’s one-of-a-kind aesthetic into machines that reflect the performance of the team and company. The watches will be released summer 2017 and are available in numbered, limitededition series; specifications include:
