- Dream machines add to family-friendly entertainment
- RallyFest experience is a ‘must see’ event for all car fans
- Special ticket discounts available
Many of the world’s finest supercars will dazzle spectators at the family-friendly RallyFest to be staged at Chirk Castle later this month on Saturday 16 November.
The exciting new RallyFest is part of Wales Rally GB, the UK round of the high-profile FIA World Rally Championship. A special competitive section has been laid out on the private roads around the medieval castle and more than 150 of the world’s best rally drivers will be providing some spectacular action as they race against-the-clock to set the fastest time.
The RallyFest, though, has been designed to offer more than just the thrills and spills of a rally stage. Aimed at providing spectators of all ages with a full day’s entertainment, a mouthwatering power show featuring more than 30 of the world’s fastest and most desirable exotica will be another of the main attractions.
Organised by the Supercar Driver Network, the list of dream machines on show includes Aston Martins, a BAC Mono, BMWs, Ferraris, a Ford GT40, a Lamborghini Aventador, Lotuses, Maseratis, Nissan GT-Rs, Porsches, and TVRs. What’s more they will not just be on static display, but will also parade in the historic castle grounds allowing fans to delight in the roar of their powerful engines.
“As if having the World Rally Championship isn’t electrifying enough, those at Chirk Castle will get to enjoy the full RallyFest experience,” said Andrew Coe, Chief Executive of event organiser International Motor Sports Ltd. “There’ll be this stunning parade of supercars as well as an equally fabulous line-up of classic rally cars. Then there’s live music and a host of other sideshows and attractions all set against the dramatic backdrop of Chirk Castle. It really is going to be a fantastic day out and a ‘must-see’ event for all car fans.”
Completed in 1310, Chirk Castle is set in a commanding position in the Welsh Marshes close to the A5 just south of Wrexham. As such it is easily accessible from the Midlands, Merseyside and Manchester, as well as more local vicinities such as Shrewsbury, Chester, Oswestry and Welshpool.
Individual adult tickets for the Chirk Castle RallyFest are priced at just £25* – which includes a free programme priced at £7.50. Significant discounts also are available for families. Full information on tickets can be found on the Wales Rally GB website at: www.walesrallygb.com.

Notes: Since its inception in 1932, the rally has been run 68 times. Enforced stoppages have included World War 2, Suez Crisis (1957) and Foot and Mouth (1967). Wales Rally GB is the British and 13th and final round of this year’s FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). To date, it is one of only two events (along with Finland) to have retained its status as both a qualifying and scoring round of the WRC since the championship was established in 1973.
Wales Rally GB is held annually and is organised and promoted by International Motor Sports Ltd (IMS), the commercial arm of the Berkshire-based Motor Sports Association, the governing body of motor sport in the UK. The Welsh Government has been principal funding partner since 2003. The event’s official website is www.walesrallygb.com
