One transmission is offered for S, SV and SL – Nissan’s advanced Xtronic transmission with Sport Mode and D-step Logic Control, which simulates shifts, giving a more natural acceleration feeling without holding a high rpm constant. The JUKE NISMO FWD model is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The JUKE NISMO RS includes unique engine, suspension, steering and brake tuning (versus the JUKE NISMO and standard JUKE grades). The JUKE NISMO RS increases the engine’s performance to 215 horsepower (at 6,000 rpm) and 210 lb-ft of torque (from 3,600 to 4,800 rpm) for the 6-speed manual transmission-equipped front-wheel drive model. The JUKE NISMO RS AWD with Xtronic transmission is rated at 211 horsepower (at 6,000 rpm) and 184 lb-ft of torque (from 2,400 to 6,000 rpm).
Both the JUKE NISMO and NISMO RS include special exterior modifications designed to enhance aerodynamics, including NISMO front and rear fascias and side sills with a distinctive red stripe, special grille and light treatments, extended body-colored wheel flares, red outside mirror covers and unique rear spoiler and NISMO or NISMO RS badging.
All grade levels include standard Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Start, RearView Monitor and NissanConnectSM with Mobile Apps – including a 5.0-inch color display, USB connection port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Streaming audio via Bluetooth®, Siri™ Eyes Free and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant2.
Other available features include Automatic Climate Control, premium cloth seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power moonroof, privacy glass, and SiriusXM® Satellite Radio (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), Around View® Monitor with Moving Object Detection3 and NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps, with 5.8-inch color touch-screen display, enhanced Voice Recognition for navigation and audio, SiriusXM® Traffic and SiriusXM® Travel Link™ (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately).
A unique aspect of the Nissan JUKE is the ability to personalize both the exterior and interior with a range of “color packs” to change the look and feel of the vehicle through the JUKE Color Studio (not available with JUKE NISMO models). For example, accessory 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are available with color inserts to match or contrast the body color. Special color accents can also be applied to the outside rearview mirror caps, side sills, rear roof spoiler and door handles. Interior color packs are offered for the door trim and other elements. Eight colors are available – Red, Yellow, Orange, White, Matte Black, Electric Blue, Black Purple and Carbon-Fiber Look – and a total of 12 accessories. The “affordable personalization” Color Studio offers easy online configuration and the ability to install the custom color parts and accessories at home or through individual dealers’ parts and service facilities.
2017 Nissan JUKE Black Pearl Edition
Starting with a well-equipped JUKE SV (with a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive), the 2017 JUKE Black Pearl Edition provides aftermarket style personalization straight from the factory. It is the third such vehicle created by the JUKE Color Studio, following the previous “Yellow Stinger” and “Black Stinger” editions.
Just 1,250 units will be built – 1,000 to be sold in the United States and 250 in Canada. JUKE Black Pearl Edition package has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)3 of $1,190 USD. The 2017 JUKE SV is priced at $22,550 USD for the front-wheel drive model and $24,400 USD for the all-wheel drive model.
“The ‘Black Pearl’ name draws on Nissan heritage, reviving a name originally used on a limited edition 1978 280Z model,” said Bunce. “It also embraces the spirit of every Nissan Z®, combining bold styling with dynamic performance.”
The modifications to the Black Pearl Edition exterior begin up front with white bumper accents and white outside trim rings on the distinctive JUKE headlights. On the sides, white door handles and white caps for the heated outside rearview mirrors continue the theme, leading into the white rear spoiler and white accents on the rear bumper. A special Black Pearl Edition badge completes the exterior enhancements.
Exclusive Super Black-painted 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels mounted with 215/55R17 all-season tires complement the JUKE high stance and sporty driving position.
Inside, the Black Pearl Edition includes black cloth heated front seats with white inserts and stitching, white and black cloth door trim inserts and white power window switch finishers. The signature JUKE motorcycle-style center console is painted white, while the steering wheel features white stitching. Completing the high-contrast interior appearance are white air vent trim rings and white accents on the shift knob.
Like all 2017 JUKE models (non-NISMO), the Black Pearl Edition features a 1.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG™) Turbo, 16-valve DOHC aluminum-alloy inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 188 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque – combining spirited performance and good fuel economy.
One transmission is offered – Nissan’s advanced Xtronic transmission with Manual Mode and D-step Logic Control that simulates shifts, giving a natural acceleration feeling without holding a high rpm constant. Fuel economy for JUKE front-wheel drive models is rated at 28/32/29 mpg city/highway/combined. 2017 JUKE all-wheel drive models are rated at 26/30/28 mpg city/highway/combined.
Like all 2017 JUKE models, the Black Pearl Edition interior offers ample roominess and space for five adults. The combination of the fold-down 60/40-split bench seat and flat load floor provides passenger and cargo hauling flexibility. Standard features include RearView Monitor5, Nissan Intelligent KeyTM with Push Button Ignition, USB connection port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, 5.0-inch color display, Streaming audio via Bluetooth®, Siri™ Eyes Free and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant4.
