- New Superb Estate offers best-in-class interior space
- More emotive, expressive and dynamic style
- Simply Clever: More space, more comfort, more safety, more connectivity, more eco-friendly and better driving dynamics
- Available to order in June with first deliveries in September 2015
Mladá Boleslav, 26 May 2015 – ŠKODA is once again making its mark with the new ŠKODA Superb. Just months after the debut of the hatchback, comes the new ŠKODA Superb Estate. Based on innovative MQB technology, this attractive newcomer sets new standards in its segment in terms of space, comfort, safety and connectivity. The new ŠKODA Superb Estate has the largest interior space and luggage compartment in its classz. The total boot volume is nearly 2,000 litres. At the same time, the new and expressive ŠKODA design transforms the new-generation model into a stylish estate with dynamic elegance.
“With the new ŠKODA Superb Estate, we have further developed the existing strengths of the Superb and once again set a benchmark. With its expressive, dynamic design, we are emphasising and complimenting ŠKODA’s expertise in the estate segment,” said Dr Frank Welsch, ŠKODA Board Member for Technical Development. “The combination of aesthetics, top-of-the range technology and the highest practical benefits makes the new Superb Estate an outstanding vehicle within its segment. With the new flagship, we will attract new customers to our brand,” said Welsch.
ŠKODA has offered an estate version of its top model, the ŠKODA Superb, since 2009. To date, ŠKODA has delivered more than 200,000 ŠKODA Superb Estate models to customers worldwide. This represents 35 per cent of all ŠKODA Superbs sold since 2009.
The new ŠKODA Superb Estate offers the best interior space in its segment. It is based on MQB technology, with a wheelbase that has been extended by 80mm to 2,841mm. The track width has increased to 1,584mm at the front and to 1,572mm at the rear. The result: even more interior space. In the latest model, driver and passenger have 39mm more elbow room than before. Headroom in the front is 995mm and 1,001mm in the rear – more than in any other model in the segment. Rear knee-room is 157mm – around twice as much as the next-best competitor. Elbow room in the rear has been increased by 70mm. The boot volume also sets a new benchmark: 660 litres, representing an increase of 27 litres compared to the previous model. When the back seats are folded down, the boot volume reaches an impressive 1,950 litres.
The design of the new ŠKODA Superb Estate makes a powerful statement. The design is more passionate, modern and emotionally charged than ever before.
The use of MQB technology also plays a central role when it comes to styling: the longer wheelbase, the shortened front overhang as well as the widened track provide balanced proportions and create the car’s extremely dynamic and sporty impression. In combination with increased vehicle length, a long wheelbase, shortened front overhang, a sweeping roof line and a steeply angled rear window, the silhouette evolves as a stylistically confident, perfect entity. The front and rear are expressive and unmistakably ŠKODA.
The new ŠKODA Superb Estate comes with a veritable armada of new assistance systems for increased safety, eco-friendliness and comfort. Like the Superb hatchback, the new Superb Estate also features Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC). Thanks to the new EU6 engines, the latest edition is more powerful and at the same time up to 30 per cent more efficient than its predecessor. Connectivity reaches a new level of quality: the latest generation of infotainment systems automatically connects to all standard smartphones via SmartLink (MirrorLinkTM, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technology). The optional high-speed internet connection turns the new Superb Estate into a ŠKODA hotspot on wheels.
In September, the new ŠKODA Superb Estate will make its motor show debut at the 66th International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Germany. The new model will be launched into the first markets in the same month, while UK ŠKODA retailers will start taking orders from June.
FULL PRICING AND SPECIFICATION ANNOUNCED FOR NEW ŠKODA SUPERB ESTATE
- Stylish new model offers even more room and even better value for money
- Prices start from £19,840 with first deliveries expected in September 2015
- Significant increase in standard equipment and technology across the range
- Seven engines from launch with power outputs from 120PS to 280PS
- DSG and 4×4 transmissions available on selected models
Milton Keynes, 3 June 2015: ŠKODA has announced UK full pricing and specifications for the all-new Superb Estate. The new model is available to order later this month with the widest range of engine, transmission and trim level options ever offered to buyers of ŠKODA’s flagship model. First UK deliveries are expected in September.
Just like its hatchback sibling, the new Superb Estate will be available with seven engine options and the option of DSG automatic and 4×4 transmissions on some models. The engine range consists of four TSI petrol and three TDI diesel units with outputs ranging from 120PS for the 1.6 TDI to 280PS for the range-topping new 2.0 TSI engine.
The range consists of five trim levels: S, SE, SE Business, SE L Executive and Laurin & Klement, with each offering higher specification and equipment levels than comparable models in the current line-up. Despite this impressive increase in specification across the board, ŠKODA has managed to make the new Superb even more affordable with the new 1.4 TSI S model available for £19,840 – just £25 more than the outgoing S model.
At 4856mm long and 1,864mm wide, the new Superb is 23mm longer and 47mm wider than its predecessor, while the 2,841mm wheelbase is 80mm longer, allowing for greater space within the passenger compartment. The boot is 27 litres larger than before, at 660 litres, expanding to a cavernous 1,950 litres with the rear seat backs folded. Despite the increased size, the new ŠKODA Superb Estate is up to 75kg lighter than its predecessor, thanks in part to weight-saving measures made available by the car’s advanced MQB construction.
The new Superb is also brimming with new technology and the brand’s acclaimed Simply Clever features. Designed and engineered to make the new Superb safer and more comfortable, the new features include a Virtual Pedal system that opens the boot with just the wave of a foot under the rear bumper and full integration of Apple and Android smartphones via SmartLink. Safety and convenience features include Blind Spot Detection, Rear traffic alert, third-generation Park Assist and Traffic Jam Assist.
Five trim grades deliver luxury and value
All Superb models feature alloy wheels, air conditioning, LED rear lights, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and a touchscreen infotainment system. As well as ESC, a standard feature is Multi-Collision brake included – this triggers automatic brake intervention after a collision, preventing or reducing the impact of a possible second collision. All models also feature an autonomous emergency braking system as standard.
SE models start from £22,390 and add 17-inch Helios alloy wheels, dual-zone air conditioning, rear parking sensors and cornering front fog lights. The SE’s impressive specification also includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and SmartLink – a system that allows smartphone owners to show their phone’s display on the car’s infotainment screen. This offers safe use of a number of helpful functions and apps, including maps and music streaming services, whilst driving. All SE models now also include two umbrellas, one stowed in each of the front doors.
Business users can choose the well-equipped SE Business model, which adds even greater comfort and technology, including Alcantara upholstery; front and rear parking sensors and stylish sunset glass from the B-pillar back. ŠKODA’s Amundsen touchscreen satellite navigation system is also included as standard, with a 6.5-inch colour touchscreen. The SE Business is available with 1.6-litre TDI 120PS or 2.0 TDI 150PS engines, with a standard six-speed manual gearbox or optional DSG gearbox. It starts from a P11D price of £22,735 and 19 per cent BIK.
The SE L Executive model features even more, including bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, leather upholstery with heated front seats and Columbus satellite navigation with 8-inch touchscreen. SE L Executive models also include 18-inch Zenith alloy wheels, and an electrically operated boot. Prices start from £25,420.
For Superb buyers seeking the ultimate in refinement, the new Laurin & Klement model has been specified to meet the most demanding of drivers. The most luxurious and technology-packed car to ever wear the ŠKODA badge, the Superb L&K adds striking 18-inch Pegasus anthracite alloy wheels, tri-zone climate control, heated rear seats, 10-speaker CANTON sound system and piano black decorative inserts. The L&K also showcases ŠKODA’s range of advanced technologies with Blind Spot Detection, Lane Assist, Park Assist, KESSY keyless entry and start system, TV tuner and Virtual Pedal all fitted as standard.

NEW ŠKODA SUPERB GREENLINE: 1,100 MILES ON A SINGLE TANK
- New ŠKODA Superb GreenLine is the cleanest and most efficient Superb ever
- 1.6 TDI 120PS engine returns 76.4mpg and emits just 96g/km of CO2 (Hatch)
- Optimised aerodynamics and engine modifications deliver improved efficiency
- World debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show – arrives in UK late 2015
Milton Keynes, 26 August 2015: ŠKODA is set to add to its acclaimed GreenLine range with its most advanced and efficient model to date – the new Superb GreenLine. The latest addition to the recently-launched Superb range takes fuel economy and emissions to a new level, with a predicted combined consumption figure of 76.4mpg and CO2 emissions of just 96g/km for the Hatch and 97g/km for the Estate. These provide the new Superb GreenLine with a potential range of more than 1,100 miles on just one tank of fuel– comfortably enough to drive from Milton Keynes to Barcelona.
The new Superb GreenLine will be unveiled to the public at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show and will be available in the UK later this year. The newcomer – which is the most fuel-efficient and cleanest Superb ever built – is powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 120PS and incorporates a host of advanced fuel-saving technologies and engineering features. As with all other Superb models, the GreenLine is equipped with start-stop ignition and brake energy recovery as standard. In addition, both Superb GreenLine models feature longer gear ratios, SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) and 16-inch reduced rolling resistance tyres.
To meet strict European emission standards, the Superb utilises two exhaust gas treatment units: an oxidation catalytic converter and a diesel particulate filter. Nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced through the Superb GreenLine’s SCR system, using the reducing agent AdBlue. This synthetically manufactured solution, 32.5% high-purity urea in demineralised water, treats the diesel exhaust gases, reducing nitrogen oxide and saving fuel.
To further improve efficiency, the Superb GreenLine has been engineered with a unique aerodynamic package. The chassis sits 15mm lower than the standard Superb, while both the Hatchback and Estate models incorporate tailgate and roof spoilers to efficiently channel air around the rear of the car. As a result of these subtle additions and revisions, both models have lower drag coefficients than the standard models (0.263 Hatch, 0.275 Estate).
ŠKODA’s commitment to developing highly efficient, eco-friendly cars remains as strong as ever. All ŠKODA models are now available with the latest EU6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. Further details about the Superb GreenLine, including UK specification and prices, will be announced closer to the launch later this year.
