BUGATTI PHOTO RELEASE: TWO WORLD SPEED RECORD CARS AT THE NUERBURGRING
Two world speed champions made their powerful appearance yesterday at this year’s ADAC Zurich 24h Race at the Nuerburgring, Germany: The fastest production road car in the world, a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, and the fastest production roadster on earth, a Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, met on the Nordschleife for the first time in Bugatti history to be the highlight of the so called Lap of Honour which took place just prior to the official start of the toughest endurance race in the world. More than 200,000 visitors witnessed both 1,200 hp super sports cars parading on this legendary course.
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport drove the world speed record for production road cars in 2010 reaching a top speed of 431.072 km/h (268 mph). The Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse followed to get the title of the fastest production roadster in 2013, driving 408.84 km/h (254.04 mph) with the roof off. To date both 1,200 hp super sports cars remain undefeated in their respective category. Bugatti celebrated an important milestone earlier this year, when the final of all 450 Veyron super sport cars, that were planned to be built, was sold. This was the culmination of an unprecedented chapter in automobile history. So far no other carmaker had managed to successfully market a product that stands for unique top-class technical performance and pure luxury in a comparable price/volume range.
