  • Replacement Part Search Data Reveals Where Remaining Hummer Vehicles Are Located

Denver, CO – May 5, 2015 – Given California’s notoriously high gas prices and preference for eco-friendly vehicles, it’s somewhat surprising to learn that the state has the most remaining Hummer brand vehicles in the US. Yet, according to part search data from GMPartsCenter.net gathered between 2010 and 2014, there were more Californians searching for Hummer replacement parts than people in any other state, followed closely by Texas.

Looking at search data from outside the United States, the largest number of searches for replacement Hummer parts originated in Saudi Arabia, followed by Japan and then Russia.

“Before we tabulated the data, I would have guessed that Texas or perhaps Colorado would have the most Hummer vehicles in the USA. However, there were more searches for Hummer parts from California than any other state,” said Matt Mylan, Director at GMPartsCenter.net. “Even more interesting is the per capita data, which shows that Connecticut has the most Hummers in the United States after you adjust for population.”

With the help of Spork Marketing, GMPartsCenter.net tabulated their search data for Hummer parts between 2010 and 2014. Then, these searches were geolocated to reveal which US states and countries had the largest number of people looking for Hummer parts.

“The assumption is that every search for Hummer parts represents a Hummer owner,” explains Jason Lancaster, President of Spork Marketing. “While this assumption probably isn’t 100% correct – many people in the US and Canada don’t search for replacement parts online – we’re looking at four years of search data. We feel pretty good about the trends the data reveals.
