NISSAN OFFERS FREE PUBLIC CHARGING FOR NEW LEAF BUYERS IN ATLANTA

ATLANTA – As customers flood local stores this week looking for Black Friday deals, Nissan is offering Atlanta buyers of the all-electric LEAF its own money-saving holiday special: no-cost public charging for two years.

Nissan is today announcing “No Charge to Charge” for Atlanta, a program that offers no-cost access to more than a dozen quick chargers spread throughout the Greater Atlanta market for two years with the purchase or lease of a new LEAF electric car. These quick chargers can charge a LEAF from zero to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes, providing drivers additional range to extend the use of their car.

“Atlanta is America’s biggest market for LEAF, and access to free public charging can enhance the convenience of driving an electric car and motivate additional consumers to make the switch to Nissan LEAF,” said Brendan Jones, director, Nissan Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure. “As the top-selling electric car brand, Nissan is actively working with key partners to ramp up charging infrastructure in Metro Atlanta to make more charging options available for the thousands of area LEAF owners.”

While “No Charge to Charge” kicks off today, Nissan is extending the program to LEAF owners who purchased or leased their vehicle on or after Nov. 1.

Atlanta has been the number one LEAF market since mid-2013 due to a variety of factors, including an available Georgia state tax credit, single-occupant access to high occupancy vehicle (HOV) and high occupancy toll (HOT) lanes and a number of major companies who now provide workplace charging for their employees. This along with strong word-of-mouth support from existing LEAF owners to family, friends and co-workers, are the reasons LEAF’s popularity in Atlanta has soared.

Nissan now offers “No Charge to Charge” in 13 of the top markets for Nissan LEAF sales, including San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Nashville, Phoenix, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Chicago. By mid-2015, Nissan plans to offer the “No Charge to Charge” program at LEAF dealers in at least 12 additional U.S. markets.

With more than 147,000 global sales and more than 66,000 in the U.S., Nissan LEAF is the world’s best-selling electric car. LEAF features seating for up to five passengers and boasts an EPA-estimated* driving range of 84 miles on a fully-charged battery and MPGe ratings of 126 city, 101 highway and 114 combined.

The starting price of a Nissan LEAF is about $17,000** in Georgia after maximum available federal and state tax credits, and LEAF offers the benefits of lower running costs and less scheduled maintenance. Nissan manufactures LEAF and its battery pack less than 250 miles from Atlanta at its plant in Smyrna, Tennessee.,.
