NISSAN PRODUCTION, SALES AND EXPORT RESULTS FOR JULY 2014

YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for July 2014.

1. Production

Nissan’s global production in July decreased 2.7% year-on-year to 365,448 units.

Production in Japan decreased 22.5% year-on-year to 79,267 units.

Production outside of Japan increased 4.8% year-on-year to 286,181 units.

In the U.S., production increased 28.9% year-on-year to 53,168 units, mainly due to increased demand for the new Rogue, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

In Mexico, production increased 19.1% year-on-year to 57,781 units, mainly due to strong sales of the Sentra and Versa (known as the Latio in Japan), marking an all-time record for the month of July.

In the U.K., production increased 8.9% year-on-year to 35,196 units, mainly due to increased demand for the new Qashqai.

In Spain, production increased 19.2% year-on-year to 15,045 units, mainly due to increased demand for the new Pulsar.

In China, production was down 17.3% year-on-year to 68,092 units, mainly due to reduced operating days because the summer holiday period was different compared to the previous year.

Production in other regions increased 1.4% year-on-year to 56,899 units.

2. Sales

Global sales increased 0.6% year-on-year to 416,933 units, marking an all-time record for the month of July.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 55,716 units in Japan, down 10.3% year-on-year.

In Japan, vehicle registrations in July decreased 14.9% year-on-year to 35,837 units.

Mini-vehicle sales in Japan decreased 0.7% year-on-year to 19,879 units.

Sales outside of Japan increased 2.5% year-on-year to 361,217 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of July.

Sales in the U.S. increased 11.4% year-on-year to 121,452 units, an all-time sales record for the month, mainly due to higher demand for the Versa, Sentra, and Nissan LEAF.

Sales in Mexico increased 15.4% year-on-year to 23,578 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of July, mainly due to increased demand for the Versa and Sentra. Nissan has been the sales leader in Mexico for 62 consecutive months.

In Europe, sales increased 3.9% year-on-year to 53,799 units, mainly due to increased sales of the Note and the new X-Trail.

In China, sales were down 12.3% year-on-year to 79,518 units, mainly due to reduced operating days because the summer holiday period was different compared to the previous year.

Sales in other regions decreased 1.2% year-on-year to 71,317 units.

3. Japan Exports

Nissan’s exports in July decreased 27.3% year-on-year to 43,417 units.
